Certified Green Project Manager — Master
The Certified Green Project Manager – Master (GPM-m™) certification is an advanced level certification that reflects an individual’s commitment to taking a leadership role in sustainably managed projects. Individuals with this certification have demonstrated experience in both project implementation and the application of sustainability principles.
A certified GPM-m™ has experience in managing large, complex projects. With this experience, they brings a unique perspective to understanding and communicating the costs and benefits of both tangible and intangible success criteria.
Who should apply?
Project managers, program managers, project directors and program directors who want to obtain an internationally recognized certification that validates their achievements in managing projects in a sustainable manner.
What are the assessment requirements?
Candidates must be GPM-b™ or GPM-s™ certified.
Candidates must also hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university and have earned at least 200 professional education credits in accordance with GPM certification requirements.
Is there Recognition of Prior Learning for the GPM- m?
A current IPMA Level A® or IPMA Level B® certification can be substituted for the experience requirement below.
What are the assessment requirements?
- With a bachelor’s degree: eight years (12,000 hours) of work as a manager or director of a project or program, of which at least four years (6,000 hours) in the last twelve years.
- With a master’s degree: six years (9,000 hours) of work as a manager or director of a project or program, of which at least four years (6,000 hours) in the last twelve years.
- With a doctoral degree: four years (6,000 hours) of work as a manager or director of a project or program, of which at least three years (4,500 hours) in the last twelve years.
What is the assessment process?
- Candidates submit a written case study for a project with a score of at least sixty (60) using the GPM Management Complexity Ratings sheet. The case study must also meet other requirements of GPM’s case study guidelines.
- There is neither a written nor oral exam for the GPM-m level.
- Candidates must submit a reference letter from two (2) direct supervisors or clients detailing the candidate’s roles and responsibilities while working for them.
- The application will be reviewed by two certified GPM-m assessors. Assessors may schedule a video interview if they have questions or require additional evidence to make a decision.
- If certification is granted, it will be valid for five (5) years.
What is the cost for the GPM-s?
The cost of applying for GPM-m certification is USD 999 for GPM Ambassadors and USD 1 199 for non-ambassadors.
